Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized in order to transport things and supplies around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.
Pallet trucks should be operated carefully to avoid loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Equipment must be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make sure that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever found on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be at the center to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift can unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is really dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you as the momentum can cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Gradually come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
