Genie Knuckle boom lifts are powerful four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable equipment that allow work to be done efficiently, even if the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the machinery and its parts. System diagnostics are offered in various languages. On the Z-80/60 model, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for improved performance at higher altitudes. In addition, it carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.
The 4-wheel drive ability and full-time positive traction adds enhanced traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 only provides four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular model include coordinated, crab, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the equipment extra agility. on the Z-80/60 helps improve wheel contact on irregular ground. Genie's engine-powered articulating Z-booms are larger compared to any other Genie units. They feature a continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs which are engineered to give the user a much better range of motion and reach. The Z-boom design gives the models exceptional over and up positioning capability which varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively designed device used for retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 model machinery is only 2.46 meters if the axle is stowed. The Z-80/60 has fixed width axles for easier transport.
