Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different kinds of sources that could power forklifts. They can run from gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
