Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also referred to as a counterbalance, lifts loads as heavy as 30,000 lbs. Despite being big and sturdy, these industrial machinery still bear the potential chance of accident or crash. To be able to be safe, be certain to have operators wear an appropriate seat belt in the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are also on board. People know that in the event of an accident, seat belts could save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts can extend over the lap and across the upper body. These belts offer an added safety degree by protecting your body. They are available in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are available in either non-retractable or retractable styles.
Most modern motor vehicles on the market provide retractable seat belts. Though non-retractable styles increase safety, retractable styles provide much more comfort. It is truly impossible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The kind of seat belt which only extends over the lower portion of the body is a two-point lap belt. Most lap belts feature a push-button closure system and are non-retractable. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The kind of seat belt that forces a forklift operator to wear a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached which sounds an alarm if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band types.
