Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model however, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads utilizing these machines. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are searching for a cheap method for transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could operate in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
